Toenail fungus makes nails thick, discolored, and brittle. It is stubborn because the infection lives in and under the nail, so surface remedies often fall short.
Treatments that work
Depending on severity, we use topical or oral antifungals, laser or microwave treatment, and, in severe cases, removal of the affected nail. Testing confirms the diagnosis so treatment targets the right problem.
Set realistic expectations
Because nails grow slowly, it can take several months for a healthy nail to replace the damaged one. Good foot hygiene and dry footwear reduce the chance it returns.
