Regenerative Medicine

Regenerative Medicine

What is Regenerative Medicine?

Regenerative Medicine offers an alternative to surgery by using cells to help repair old or chronic injuries and shorten recovery times. Many of our patients have found that using a variety of regenerative medicine therapies has enabled them to resume normal activity faster.

Types Of Regenerative Medicine

There are multiple types of stem cells used for regenerative medicine:

  • PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)
    • Where your own blood platelets are injected into the injury site to help the body use its own natural healing process for recovery.
  • Bone Marrow Concentrate (BMC or BMAC)
    • Uses your body's own stem cells that are stored inside the bone marrow to help the body repair tissue that may be damaged or difficult to heal.

What Is Regenerative Medicine Used For?

Regenerative Medicine is used to treat:

  • Tendon injuries to restore tendon function
  • Ligament damage to strengthen tissue
  • Healing wounds
  • Osteoarthritis in joints
  • Bone fractures that are slow to heal
  • Cartilage injuries that don't heal well
  • Bone death (osteonecrosis)
  • Sesamoid pain (sesamoiditis)

At To Healthy Feet Podiatry, we use various types of Regenerative Medicine techniques based on the injury type and patient lifestyle to ensure optimal recovery.
