Dr. Farah Alani is a New York City foot and ankle surgeon at To Healthy Feet Podiatry, a boutique podiatry practice located in the heart of Manhattan. Her diverse patient base includes senior diplomats, Broadway stars, professional athletes, young professionals, and anyone seeking relief from foot and ankle injuries or pain.
Dr. Alani initially pursued business at the University of Western Ontario before switching to medicine, graduating in 2005. She earned her medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois, in 2011, where she received a Health Service Award for her contributions to rural clinics in Mexico. Dr. Alani completed her residency training in New York City and Newport Beach, California, followed by a fellowship in Dermatology and Pathology in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Alani’s practice focuses on non-invasive surgery, regenerative medicine, and innovative podiatric techniques. She specializes in reconstructive surgeries, including bunion and hammertoe corrections, ligament reconstruction, treating Morton’s neuroma, and treating arthritic and sports-related injuries. She has particular expertise in diagnosing and treating sports injuries commonly experienced by runners, skiers, and dancers.
Dr. Alani takes pride in ensuring patients understand their conditions and treatment options, providing both conservative and surgical solutions while supporting them through treatment and recovery. She is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and is a member of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association and the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine.
Currently in her fourth term as Chairman of the Northeast Aga Khan Health Board, Dr. Alani manages over 350 volunteer healthcare professionals, providing essential healthcare, healthy living programs, and health education to underserved communities across the northeastern United States. She also serves as a mentor to young medical professionals and has participated in multiple medical missions to remote parts of Mexico with LIGA-Flying Doctor of Mercy.
Her international service includes volunteer work in Uganda, which inspired her to become a foot surgeon, and teaching English in China where she developed an oral English curriculum for a middle school in Changsha.
Dr. Alani has received numerous accolades. She was invited to speak at the United Nations Women’s Entrepreneurship Day.
A language enthusiast, Dr. Alani is fluent in English, French, and Kutchi, and is currently learning Spanish. She actively supports the local arts scene, enjoys traveling, and loves spending time with family.
