If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, plantar fasciitis microsurgery may be the right solution for you.
If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, plantar fasciitis microsurgery may be the right solution for you.
Ongoing pain at the bottom of the heel that interferes with walking, exercise, or daily activities.
Sharp or stabbing pain that is often worst during the first steps in the morning or after periods of rest.
Plantar fasciitis microsurgery includes minimally invasive procedures designed to relieve chronic inflammation, remove damaged tissue, and stimulate healing within the plantar fascia. Using advanced ultrasound-guided and endoscopic techniques, podiatrists can precisely target injured tissue while minimizing trauma to surrounding structures.
These procedures are performed in-office or outpatient with light sedation and typically require very small incisions or no stitches at all. Most patients experience faster recovery times and are able to walk shortly after treatment while wearing a protective walking boot.
Compared to traditional open heel surgery, minimally invasive procedures provide patients with faster recovery and less post-operative discomfort.
Most patients are able to resume normal activities within a shorter timeframe compared to traditional surgery.
Small incisions or needle-sized entry points minimize tissue damage and visible scarring.
Advanced technologies target damaged tissue while preserving healthy fascia and supporting healing.
Many patients are able to bear weight immediately or shortly after the procedure while wearing a walking boot.
TENEX
Tenex is a minimally invasive in-office procedure that uses ultrasonic energy to remove damaged and scar tissue from the plantar fascia while preserving healthy tissue. The procedure takes about 20–30 minutes, requires no stitches, and patients are typically able to walk immediately in a walking boot. Most normal activities can be resumed within about one week.
TOPAZ
Topaz Coblation Therapy uses radiofrequency energy to gently release the plantar fascia and stimulate healing by increasing blood flow to the affected area. This minimally invasive procedure takes approximately 20–30 minutes, requires no stitches, and allows patients to walk immediately in a walking boot with a return to normal activities in about one week.
ENDOSCOPIC PLANTAR FASCIOTOMY (EPF)
Endoscopic Plantar Fasciotomy (EPF) is a minimally invasive procedure that uses small incisions and a tiny camera to release tight plantar fascia tissue near the heel. Performed with local anesthesia and sedation, patients are usually able to walk immediately in a walking boot and return to normal activities within about one week.

Sometimes scar tissue builds up in a tendon and causes the tendon to lose its elasticity. At that point, chronic Achilles tendinitis can be treated by removing the scar tissue using a minimally invasive procedure like Tenex. This uses a wand that transmits ultrasonic energy to break through the scar tissue leaving healthy tissue behind. Downtime is minimal and return to normal activity is about a week.
Grab a resistance band (or even a stretchy t-shirt)! Place the band or shirt around the ball of your foot. Pull the two ends of the band or shirt towards you until you feel a nice stretch in the back of your leg. Hold this stretch for 30 seconds, and relax for 10 seconds. Repeat this 5-10 times for both legs!
Achilles tendonitis rarely requires surgery. However, if treatment is delayed or neglected, there could be further damage such as a tendon tear. This would require surgical repair, and although we can do this with minimally invasive techniques, it is better to prevent damage when possible. Don’t ignore your pain. See your podiatrist as soon as possible.
