Bone Marrow Concentrate

Bone Marrow Concentrate (BMC or BMAC) is a regenerative medicine treatment that uses your body’s own stem cells to help repair damaged tissue, reduce inflammation, and support healing. These stem cells are collected from bone marrow and concentrated to create a powerful healing solution for injured or chronic foot and ankle conditions.
Conditions Treated With Bone Marrow Concentrate

If you are experiencing chronic pain, tissue damage, or slow-healing injuries, BMC therapy may be the right solution for you.

Tendon & Ligament Injuries

BMC may help support healing in damaged tendons and ligaments that have not responded to conservative treatment.

Joint & Cartilage Damage

Stem cell therapy may assist with tissue regeneration in arthritic joints and cartilage injuries.

Slow-Healing Foot & Ankle Conditions

Chronic inflammation, bone injuries, and difficult-to-heal tissues may benefit from regenerative medicine treatments.

What Is Bone Marrow Concentrate?

Bone Marrow Concentrate (BMC or BMAC) is a substance created from cells collected from your own bone marrow. These cells contain stem cells and healing factors that help stimulate tissue repair and regeneration within injured areas of the body.

Because the treatment uses your body’s own natural healing cells, BMC is considered a regenerative medicine therapy designed to support recovery in damaged or degenerative tissue.

Benefits of BMC Therapy

Compared to more invasive treatment options, BMC therapy provides patients with a regenerative and minimally invasive healing approach.

Uses Your Body’s Own Stem Cells

BMC utilizes natural stem cells from your own bone marrow to support healing and tissue regeneration.

Minimally Invasive Procedure

The treatment is performed using specialized needle techniques with little downtime compared to surgery.

Supports Tissue Regeneration

Stem cells may help repair damaged tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and other skeletal tissues.

Reduces Pain & Inflammation

BMC therapy may help decrease chronic pain and inflammation associated with difficult-to-heal conditions.

How Does BMC Work?

Using a minimally invasive technique with local or sedation anesthesia, bone marrow is collected from a larger bone such as the heel bone using a specialized needle. The bone marrow is then processed in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the useful stem cells and healing components. The concentrated stem cells are then injected into the injured or painful area to help stimulate tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and accelerate healing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sometimes scar tissue builds up in a tendon and causes the tendon to lose its elasticity. At that point, chronic Achilles tendinitis can be treated by removing the scar tissue using a minimally invasive procedure like Tenex. This uses a wand that transmits ultrasonic energy to break through the scar tissue leaving healthy tissue behind. Downtime is minimal and return to normal activity is about a week.

Warm-up before and cool down after your workout routine. Slowly increase the intensity of your exercise over a period of time. If you’re using equipment at the gym, make sure you know how to use it safely and also with the form and posture. If unsure, always ask!

Grab a resistance band (or even a stretchy t-shirt)! Place the band or shirt around the ball of your foot. Pull the two ends of the band or shirt towards you until you feel a nice stretch in the back of your leg. Hold this stretch for 30 seconds, and relax for 10 seconds. Repeat this 5-10 times for both legs!

Achilles tendonitis rarely requires surgery. However, if treatment is delayed or neglected, there could be further damage such as a tendon tear. This would require surgical repair, and although we can do this with minimally invasive techniques, it is better to prevent damage when possible. Don’t ignore your pain.
